Where More is More

Belongings tell the unique story of the people who live in a space, and embracing your own personal treasures can make you happier at home. It’s ok to put the you into your home, loud and proud!

Life at Home Report Insight: Globally, 27% of people think that society puts pressure on us to live minimally. But our connections to things are profoundly emotional, because they each trigger memories, hopes, and dreams that go far deeper than any functional use.

This is why we find it so hard to discard them. We found that belongings that honor experiences are easier to deal with, helping us view our possessions more objectively.

Who lives here: A couple who enjoy life and what they have gathered over the years, throughout their adventures together.

To say that there’s plenty to discover in this home is an understatement, but every inch of this vibrant flat is well thought-out. The recipe for success? Clever ways of storing, organizing, and – above all –displaying.

We’ve got inspiration for every room in your home sweet home

Get ready for a whirlwind visual trip through home furnishing design, IKEA style! Here’s a gallery of some of the colorful product photos that fill the pages of the 2019 catalog.

This year’s range inspiration product pages feature a mix of new items, current favorites and beloved classics, with one big thing in common: we’re proud of them all, especially at their always-asaffordable-as possible prices.

We hope you enjoy this small selection. And remember, there are thousands more (really!) to discover online and in our stores.

Get the look at home

As part of the design of the 2019 catalog homes, our interior designers worked to develop strong individual style looks with all IKEA products. To further tell these style stories, we will also feature supporting accessory spreads in the catalog that make it easy to bring the look home.

Here we have a calm, harmonious look similar to what we explore in the “Haven in the city” home. Think dusty pastels, blonde woods, and organic shapes. Our new stoneware GRADVIS vase is the perfect shade of rosy pink. It’s equally beautiful (and worth having on display) both empty or full of blooms.

Hold tiny trinkets and treasures (or more everyday-use items like bobby pins or cotton balls) in our new SAXBORGA glass jars with cork lids and trays. Who says storage can’t be pretty as well as practical? Getting organized can be done with style and on a budget. Here we gather practical items that can help make any small home feel a little bigger.

Simple, stackable, and see-through are all good things for small spaces, and we’ve got lots that fit the bill. IKEA 365+ clear food containers (shown here in multiple sizes and shapes) make finding what you’ve stored easy. Our white KUGGIS boxes stack to make the most of shelf space and are made from recycled PET plastic.

Are you more of a maximalist? You might want a handpicked-treasure style such as the one shown in the “Where more is more” home, complete with golden brass, smokey glass, and lush velvets. This collection of goodies might look like they are from a favorite vintage market, but you know where they are really from.

Our new DAGDRÖM lacquered glass decorative balls can add a warm metallic gleam to any vignette, and the glow from a chic glass globe FADO lamp is equally inviting. And you know that everyone will be intrigued by whatever treasure you choose to place beneath that BEGÅVNING glass dome!

The natural look of accessories that fit the style of our “Resourceful and loving it” home add a sense of warmth and beautiful texture to any room. Bring home items made from natural woods and rattan (such as the SNIDAD basket and new KANELSTÅNG plant stand shown here).

And don’t forget rustic textiles, glass, and pottery. Our new EGENDOM enameled metal mug, bowl, and plate fit right in to help complete the look.
